Job Description

Applications are sought for the position of Chair, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. The department seeks a chair who will be able to build upon recent investments in coastal, sustainable energy, and transportation engineering and continue to lead the expansion of research opportunities and scholarly achievements in all areas of the department.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities

The successful candidate will have a distinguished record of scholarly publications, an internationally recognized research program, evidence of effective leadership in an academic setting, and be actively engaged in professional societies. Candidates are expected to merit appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
