Job Description

The Old Dominion University Department of Communication Disorders and Special Education invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Communication Sciences and Disorders (10-month tenure track, summer teaching available) to start in Fall 2018. Candidates with expertise in early intervention, child language disorders, hearing loss, or autism are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities

Record of scholarly research. Expertise in an area related to speech-language pathology.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training

Earned doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related discipline (ABD considered if degree completed by start of employment).

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification
Preferred Qualifications

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. A successful candidate must have potential for or demonstrated record of scholarly research and publication, grant proposal writing, university-level teaching, and involvement in professional service activities. Strong verbal, written, and technology skills are a must. Candidates who have experience with and/or a commitment to working in multicultural settings are preferred.
