Job Description

The College of Continuing Education and Professional Development at Old Dominion University seeks highly qualified applicants for an adjunct online instructor position in Oracle beginning Fall 2017. The successful candidate will develop and teach Java SE 8, Oracle 12c: PL/SQL, Oracle 12c: SQL Fundamentals, and other courses.

Minimum Qualifications - knowledge, skills, and abilities

Successful applicants will teach undergraduate courses in Oracle specializing in the latest cloud-based version courses. Candidates who demonstrate an ability to teach the following courses in our program are especially desired: Oracle Cloud IaaS, Java SE 8 Fundamentals, Oracle 12c: PL/SQL, Oracle 12c: SQL Fundamentals, and Oracle 12c: Administration Workshop Ed 2.

Minimum Qualifications - Education or training

Minimum academic credentials are an earned Master’s degree (with a minimum of 18 credits earned in graduate-level courses in the content area).

Minimum Qualifications - Special licenses, registration or certification

Oracle certification in the course(s) is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated online course development, excellence in online teaching and a successful record of teaching adult learners.
