Job Description

This position provides administrative and technical development and management of all facets of the University Libraries’ online presence. The incumbent further supports student and faculty success by working closely with content creators, University partners and vendors to enhance and develop access, usability coordination and the overall user experience of the Libraries’ online presence

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Considerable knowledge of user research and online usability analysis. Working knowledge of web design methods, including tools for web analytics. Considerable skill in using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, or other appropriate programming and scripting languages. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills. Demonstrated skill and passion for creating excellent, user-focused experiences in online environments. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a demanding and rapidly changing service-oriented environment. Demonstrated ability to take initiative on work tasks and anticipate needs.

Level and type of experience

Considerable experience designing and evaluating websites. Some experience in responsive user interface and graphic design. Some experience with UNIX/Linux servers.

Preferred knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification

Working knowledge of academic library services. Some web development experience in an academic library environment. Some experience conducting usability testing and other web assessments.
Some experience or coursework in API development. Some experience as a project manager. Some experience developing with Adobe Experience Manager. Some experience administering a SharePoint site.

Conditions of Employment

May need to work occasional nights and weekends if computers experience problems

Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary is commensurate with education and experience and begins at $ - 43,892
