Job Summary

Major Gift Officers (MGOs) are responsible for raising private gifts of $25,000 or more to help advance the mission of the University. This position will work with regional giving efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with experience that equates to a master’s degree. Experience working in a higher education environment or non-profit organization in a fund-raising position. Some experience working as a major gifts or development officer, or considerable corporate sales experience. Ability to develop and implement fund-raising strategies. Demonstrated knowledge of the cultivation and solicitation process in securing major gifts. Successful track record in securing gifts of $25,000 or more. Organization, communication, and diplomacy skills in working with Board members and major gift prospects. Ability to draft high quality solicitation proposals and letters.
